This is one recommendation that I am actually extremely excited and thrilled to write! Jack…was an integral part in providing me, and our general manager the confidence necessary to open our first coffee lounge, Coffee at The Point.

I was/am extremely impressed with Jack’s knowledge, teaching style, and willingness to share what some would consider trade secrets…all to assist us in getting on the right track to having a successful coffee lounge. What was even more impressive was Jack’s willingness to answer a barrage of questions after we left (our training at) the Barista School. As we would think of something, we would email Jack. I learned of On Track Coffee Consulting and JP's Coffee through our coffee roaster. After several visits to observe their coffeehouse, I was very impressed with the quality and passion that I noted throughout the workforce. From new hires to their baristas, trainers, and managers, this was clearly an establishment of "coffee geeks" that took their craft seriously.

As a multi-unit operator, I have faced significant challenges in assuring effective training, and producing consistently high quality beverages. We worked with OTCC to develop a custom training program offsite of our location that would allow us to take our training and product quality to a higher level. FOLLOW UP: Between the (OTCC) training, some of my initiatives and the recent "train the trainers", we've been very pleased. November of 2008 we were selling a coffee or espresso-type beverage to 36% of our guests. As of November 2009 we are at 52%. Now that's the right direction!
